The Artist.

I'm a Brazilian/American designer and illustrator based in Austin, TX.

I currently work as a multimedia designer helping to create high-end, custom e-learning solutions for companies and academic institutions. I also enjoy working within the ever-expanding field of design in areas such as web design, graphic design, illustration, interface design, and interactive info-graphic design.

I began to study art at the age of eight under the guidance of Brigitta, an Austrian-immigrant artist living in Houston, who could make Prismacolor pencils flow like rich paint. Her unwavering patience eventually shepherded me into the art program, (and ultimately the design program) at the University of Texas at Austin.

During my time with Brigitta I began to explore philosophy, and ultimately developed a keen interest in the potential of images as vessels of visual communication. I came to realize that when used effectively, images can convey intricate concepts in much more noticeable and comprehensible forms.

This understanding has since become the cornerstone to my design approach, and continues to evolve along with my career.

In order to keep my creativity fresh, I take part in a wide variety of activities and projects outside of the professional realm. Some of my favorites include ultrarunning, traveling, dabbling in math, learning to make ravioli from scratch, reading design blogs, painting, raiding libraries, visiting art shows, and partaking in the joys and miseries of first-time dog ownership.

In loving memory of Brigitta Frisch. The water drops you showed me were the start of everything.
